I was going to open up a thread to take requests for avatars and what not since I am a bit PS savy but instead wound up doing this just to keep this forum organized. I'm thinking this can serve a purpose not just for graphics but anything else related to chivas that doesn't have to do anything directly with the team itself or soccer for that matter. Let's see how it goes.
So, my flight is booked for GDL: 3/5-3/11. What are some Chivas landmarks I shouldn't miss? Evidently, the suegros know Zapopan because that is where Home Depot is so I hope to make a pass by the new stadium. Does anyone know if there are tours of Valle Verde for the public? What about Club Guadalajara? Don't they have a basketball team, or did I just imagine that? Beyond all-things-Chivas, what else should we not miss in GDL? I am sure we'll be visiting Tonola and Tlaquepaque. What are the major museums and other cultural points of interest in GDL? Does anyone know, generally speaking, when the schedule for the next torneo is announced? I might have to open a thread in NSR to gather all the BSMX feedback, but this seemed like a nice place to start.
I haven't been to Guadalajara in 5 years But, make sure you visit the Catedral...very nice place. Edit: forgot to mention the Tequila Express...GAVIOTAAAAA! http://www.tequilaexpress.com.mx/
They keep the same schedule as the fall, so from femexfut March 9 they would be playing their 9th game (looks to be away at Jaguares). But March 3-5 and 10-12 are Libertadores dates, so if they make Libertadores you might get to see them at home. If they aren't in Libertadores, they tend to practice about 10am at Verde Valle, probably an "interescuadras" on Wednesday. There usually isn't a problem getting in, though I don't know about tours. It's too bad they don't have the trophies on display anywhere right now (after the Club Guadalajara was shut down, they were on display at a museum for a while). Not sure about regular museums, Tonala and Tlaquepaque are worth visiting. Downtown is interesting, murals and colonial architecture. Definitely make the trek out to Tequila. I've never done the Tequila express, but have done the Cuervo Factory Tour, which is cool. Guachimontones is an interesting, recently discovered set of ruins to visit, if you are into that (google).
I think Chivas is spot on. It'd be like saying: "Le voy a la Chiva..." The team is Chivas so imo it's cool like that. Is an "Other teams thread needed?"
Hmmmm, I guess I can see a subject-verb agreement issue there. But I like the 'Chivas de Corazón' moniker ... I was mostly concerned with bad grammar on the whole 'birth' conjugation. I'm a stickler for stuff like that so maybe this sig will be short lived, but thanks to all for their comments!
See, question is whether you're acknowledging yourself (Soy Chiva) or them (Mis Chivas). Example: "¿Y tú a quién le vas?" "¡A mis Chivas!" "¿Entonces eres Chiva?" "¡A huevo imbecil! ¡Chiva de corazón!" (Shooting your gun in the air is optional.)

Re: Jornada 14 del Clausura '09: Chivas vs Putas (Amierdica) [El Gran Clasico Nacional] The ones they sell are a "Tubo" Gomez, and "Tigre" Sepulveda collector's edition. They're very limited and a relative wasn't able to find it for me on his last trip to Jalisco. I usually rely on Pambolero.com for stuff I can't find out here but no luck as of yet. Next try is the Chivas Pop store in Huntington Park. I'm sure most of you have seen them, but in case you haven't...
