3 (of 36) in the 1st and 2nd Division (Cottbus, Rostock in the Bundesliga and Union Berlin in the 2nd).
In the 3rd Division are 5 of 37 teams from the former East Germany (Dynamo Dresden, Dresdner SC, Aue, Babelsberg and Erfurt ).

Hertha is a West German team (located in the former West-Berlin). They played in the West German leagues and their supporters are mainly from the western part of the city (correct me if i am wrong).

One addition to Alex's list: FC Chemnitz (which I think was called Karl-Marx-Stadt pre-Fall of the Wall).
The German leagues unified for the 1991-92 season. The two teams from East Germany placed in the 1.Bund. were Hansa Rostock and Dynamo Dresden. Rostock was promptly relegated, only to return in 1995 or 1996 and stay. Dresden survived I think four years before being relegated. Financial problems subsequently saw them drop several leagues. Vfb Liepzig was promoted in 1993 and relegated after one season. Energie Cottbus was promoted in 2000;this is their third season in the 1.Bund.
East German teams to play in the 2.Bund. (aside from those above) include: Carl Zeiss Jena, FC Chemnitz, FC (Chemie) Halle, BSV Stahl Brandenburg, FC (Dynamo) Berlin, Rot Weiss Erfurt, FSV Zwickau, Union Berlin, and SV Babelsberg (there may be one or two others).

Hertha draws fans from across the city, although are certainly more identified with the west. Simply put, if you want to see top flight football, you have to go to Hertha.

Thanks guys, for answering.
I have one more question to go.
It seems a lot of Eastern european or the former communist contries have teams named "Dynamo".
I know one is in Russia and I'm sure there are more. What exactly "Dynamo" means and why so many countries have teams with that name?

In Eastern Europe the football clubs were related to the state ministries and public
organizations. The names indicated that.
Example GDR (Left: Name of the club, right: related ministry, industry or organization) :
Aktivist = Fuel
Aufbau = Construction
Chemie = Chemistry
Dynamo = Police
Einheit = Administration
Energie = Energy
Fortschritt = Textile
Lokomotive = Traffic
Motor = Mechanical engineering
Post = Post office
Rotation = Press
Stahl = Steel
Traktor = Agriculture
Vorwärts (in other Eastern European countries CSKA) = Army
Wismut = Mining
