Unhappy Appleton forced into retirement by injury
Probably one of the saddest things a footballer has to face is seeing a promising playing career cut short by injury. Unfortunately that's exactly what's happened to Michael Appleton.

Though he tried desperately to rehabilitate his torn knee ligament through operations and fitness training, Appleton was given the bad news last week that he can no longer play competitive football.

First Igor Balis had to leave the Albion earlier this year because of tinnitus, and now Appy's gone as well. I know all Albion fans are saddened by this news, and wish the best for Appy.
