Default City confirm legal proceedings against Keane

From the wires:

Manchester City have begun legal proceedings for "circumstances surrounding Roy Keane's tackle" on Alfie Inge Haaland 16 months ago.
Republic of Ireland international Keane admitted in his forthcoming autobiography that he had launched a deliberate attack on then City skipper Haaland in a derby game 16 months ago.

The Norway international has played just once for the Blues since and City have now moved to confirm that they are looking to take legal proceedings against Keane and Manchester United after consulting Haaland and the Maine Road club's lawyers.

A club statement read: "Following discussions at Maine Road between the football club, Alfie and his legal advisers, it has been agreed to jointly instruct a leading firm of solicitors regarding the circumstances surrounding Roy Keane's tackle on April 21 2001.

"This action has been taken with a view to commencing legal proceedings against Roy Keane and his employers Manchester United Football Club."

When will Roy learn to keep his mouth shut.

He deserves what he gets.

Listening to BBC Five Live ...

The ghost writer for the book has said he took artisitic liberties as to what Roy said with regards to this matter. Which really is not that big of a stretch. But who really knows.

i hope he gets lengthy ban and i hope that they dont go soft and fine him something like £20000 which like 1 hours pay. I hope he either gets banned for a long time or put in jail for ABH

But knowing the FA with its head firmly up Manure and Alex furguson's arse they will fine some thing pitiful.

In my eyes i think he should be banned for the same length of time that haarland has been injured. That would be some fair justice.....

Keane is the first player in any sport that I actually would be happy to see die. Such is my hatred. I better not say anymore.

First of all, calm the f*#k down. Do you really think they're serious about wanting him to die??

Second of all, Roy Keane deserves this. He knew what was written, the club knew what was written. It totally passed committee. It brought more attention to him and the club and noone minded. Now all of a sudden City talks about legal proceedings (which they SHOULD) and he gets the ghost writer to take the fall. What a load of crap. The man is a coward. He knew what was written in the book before it was printed, whether he personally meant it or not. Players only get a short period of their lives to play this sport, and Roy Keane is, aparently, personally responsible for someone missing nearly two years of his time.

You obviously are not well informed on Alfie's injury. Keane's tackle has nothing to do with why he has missed any playing time whatsoever. He has admitted it on more than one occasion. The case is all about "intent", and not about the actual result of the tackle itself.
