Unfortunately, we will not see David Luiz nor Luisao in this match. Balboa might b sub into the game but wont start.
One thing I don't understand is why Quique start Ruben Amorim as the right winger? He doesnt even deserve a start anywhere, nevermind at right wing. We have deserving players like Di Maria or Balboa that belong in that starting position and be doesnt play either. And will b ever see Aimar play in midfield and not as a striker? He is absolutely useless as a striker. He cant play in that position and hasnt shown us anything yet. Play him in his natural position.
Anyways, Im extremely excited for the match, hope its a great and fair one.

To be fair, Amorim had a decent game vs Pacos. I have no issue with him starting this game.

Are Leo, Katso and Di Maria injured?
I need your help understanding Quique's choices for this game. Leo is clearly the best in that position. Katso with Luisao not playing and Katso is still out.Huh? Ruben Amorin starts over Di Maria. What? Either Quique knows something we don't know or he is still clueless on what players make the best team.

Definitely a great win. Sporting played well, but couldn't finish. Hopefully, this sort of play will continue into the future. The young central defenders are doing a great job. Things look promising.

I gotta admit, before the game I was nervous about how our young and inexperienced defense would do against Sporting, but gotta give them credit for pulling off a clean sheet in a derby. There was an enormous amount of pressure on them but they came through. Quim had some pretty good saves as well. He's looking alot better now. Sidnei is playing terrific and scoring a goal will only help his confidence. Looking like the Luisao of the future.

Its just hilarious that we got away with 2 18 year olds as our CB's. Both teams played rather well but Benfica got the slight nod ahead. Sporting had far too many useless long ball passes that worked in the pre-season against Benfica but clearly that was only then and this is now. Heck we might even sell Luisao this January if not then its almost guarenteed Luisao is gone in the summer
