Default Olympique Lyon v FC Bayern [R]

1-1

Roy Makaay " 25
Peguy Luyindula " 88

-----------------------------------------------------

Anyone else watch the match?

First half was certainly much better than the second. Deisler played very well in my opinion, produced a lot of runs down the right and made some good passes including in the lead up to Makaay's goal. Ballack played well too but seemed to disappear in the second half.
Santa Cruz wasted 2 opportunities to increase the lead, one was deflected off the post and the other went wide.
Jeremies came on in the second and certainly looked out of match practise, hardly saw him touch the ball.
Bayern played too defensive with 20mins remaining and this led to the equaliser.

Best Bayern player: In my opinion Oliver Kahn, made some very vital saves especially Elber's shot 4 yards out.

Listened to it on webradio; it sounded like Lyon controlled most of the play- the numbers indicate the same. However, it's still disappointing to see Bayern drop the lead that late in the match.

I didn't see Pizarro in the lineup. I'm guessing he was suspended do to his earlier red card (I can't remember which match that was in).

Lyon did seem to have the upperhand in the beginning and the end of the match but for the most part I feel it was a midfield battle.

Yes, but they almost lost in injury time. If Elber had scored we would have got 0 points. At least we got 1.

Pizzaro was sent off after 30 minutes of the Anderlecht game for two bockable fouls in 2 minutes.
