Default Blackburn - Charlton MNF [r]

About 15 minutes in. Blackburn has had the better of play.

I have mixed emotions about this one. While a win here would be great with Arsenal next week at the Valley. I think a draw would be good.

Young is out for Kinishev (sp?) at the 15th minute.

The match has lacked flow. It is being played within 30 yds of both sides of midfield.

Young tangled with Thompson, and lnjured his leg.

Blackburn has tied a few passes together and is pressing only to be thwarted by Jensen.

Good win for the Addicks. They seem to be full of confidence right now and that was the difference in the game. Excellent header on the goal and a solid defensive effort. Blackburn were a little uninspired but the game could have been different if they had put away that chance in the first 5 minutes.

This was a great win. Not pretty one, but very workman-like. Charlton got a goal, then with strong midfield play and an organized defence. Friedel was not at all to fault for the goal, there was no defense to help him. The radio announcers said that the defense just sat there as Charlton went for the header.

Glad to get another 3 points!

Going into this Arsenal match with some confidence will be helpful, lets just not hope Arsenal are out to prove something (which they will be) after thier loss this week. As long as Charlton stay settled and play their style of football, all will be good at the Valley on Saturday.
