Top 5
This might get a lil' hot but oh well. I saw this thread in the Brazil forum and it turned out pretty well. Most of them had Argentina as their number one rival, but I wanted to get your opinions. I wont post my opinions yet till I see some.

top 5 fan bases in argentina:
Boca jrs..........40.3%
river plate.........32.8%
Independiente .....5.7%
Racing club..........4.0%
San Lorenzo........3.9%
rosario central.....1.5%
estudiantes.........1.5%
very interesting poll by La nacion, leading argie paper, notice that boca shows the lowest economic/education group, while as social class moves from mid to high the fans are from River!

I agree. Those are the top rivals for most Argentines.
For me, personally, there is nothing better than beating Brasil. If we aspire to be the best, we have to beat Brasil.
I love to beat England, because of the Malvinas, but also because of the snobish English aristocracy in Argentine society, and because they invented the game. I would rather beat Brasil, even more than England. But if Brasil plays England I want to see Brasil win.
Uruguay, because they are our brothers. I always want to see Uruguay qualify for the W.C. and do well, because they represent the same type of football that we represent. I'd like to see them get back to top level. But it is always sweet to beat them.
To round the top five, I enjoy beating Italy and Colombia.
Since I moved to the US, I also love beating the US and Mexico. Mostly because most of the guys I play football with are Americans and Mexicans and I can give them a hard time when we kick their butt.

how do you want uruguay to qualify, if you want to beat them too?
well, last time it worked pretty well, the tie vs Uruguay - en el CALSICO DE LA PLATA- PUT URUGUAY on repechaje vs australia to make *#*#*#/korea 02.......In consequence eliminating COLOMBIA!
I like your list!

I'd like to see them qualify, but not at our expense. I wanted us to beat them in that last qualifier.
Ideally I would love to beat them in the final of the World Cup. But the Yoruguas need to improve a lot for that to become a reality.

This seems about right. Colombia being 4th, and maybe Holland as 5th... ARG always has great games against Holland.

Except in 74. But Holland was unbelievable in 74. I still cannot understand how they lost the final.
