Default Wigan vs Sunderland (13/09/08)

Last year we got mauled here. Hopefully, the new signings will make a difference. Wigan are feeling confident after thair mauling of Hull and will want to bring a first win to their fans. A point will do some good for our morale after the fall to the hard Man City Ground. especially since we have lost to them in our last 5 matches.

Ward is injured and all of a sudden we seem very vulnerable between the sticks...(knocks on wood) On the other hand, we have the two new defenders coming in.

possible lineups

Wigan (from): Kirkland, Melchiot, Boyce, Scharner, Figueroa, Valencia, Cattermole, Palacios, Kilbane, Heskey, Zaki, Bramble, Brown, Camara, De Ridder, Kapo, Koumas, Kupisz, Taylor, Pollitt.

Sunderland (From): Gordon, Chimbonda, Ferdinand, Nosworthy, Collins, McCartney, Bardsley, Higginbotham, Diouf, Leadbitter, Miller, Reid, Richardson, Malbranque, Tainio, Cisse, Murphy, Healy, Stokes.

I think it'll be...
Gordon, Bardsley, Ferdinand, Nosworthy, McCartney, Malbranque, Tainio, Richardson, Reid, Diouf, Cisse

I'm a bit lost with all the new players though - may have the positions wrong...

a decent draw. It's never easy going away from home, and they got a point. that's what matters.

This next game against the smoggies is what really should kick start our season.
