Riding out the hurricane
Looks like I'm going to miss out on the game tomorrow!
I live about 33 miles north of Galveston, TX. Going to be an interesting 18 hours.

There's just something about unfortunate things befalling Geraldo that makes me laugh my ass off.

Ask and ye shall receive!
It's pretty windy here, but not hurricane force yet. Amazingly still have power.
Gonna be a long night.

Re: Riding out the hurricane
Finally got power back last night!
It's been a crazy few days. Most of my preparations worked out very well. We had plenty of food, water and gasoline. The only thing that did not work was my generator!!! Straight out of the box and it would not produce any electricity.
Spent hours on the phone with the manufacturer, only for them to tell me it was defective! Luckily my in-laws had a generator and space for our food.
Spent Monday night in the garage because the house was too hot; kids thought it was fun. Luckily we got a cold front and the temperatures moderated.
Lost a big section of fence in the backyard, and have a big oak tree resting on the front. It will have to be cut down, but it is too big a job for me. I'll add pics when I get some time.
Our plans have been to ride out anything under Cat 3, and I'd say that was a reasonable choice.
We are very fortunate compared to many in the area.
