I fully expect them to do what Nantes did and return to L1. Will they have somewhat more difficulty? Perhaps. Although there is no question in my opinion that they have by far the best roster in L2. I also expect 2 out of Montpellier, Metz and Strasbourg will make the return trip to L1.

I hope its not Montpellier because their fans are lousy. Strasbourg are the ultimate yo-yo team so I'm sure they'll be back.

The Montpellier fans are not as bad as Toulouse or Auxerre. The fact that Lens was relegated instead of Toulouse was a big blow for Ligue 1 and Thirez confirmed this.

I think I read that Toulouse are having financial problems. There doesnt seem to be much money there. They made all cheap signings this summer. If they were in England they'd be ripe for a takeover. I tend to give Auxerre a pass about their fan support because its a small town in the middle of nowhere. The last time Montpellier was in Ligue 1 they averaged less than 16,000 for the season and even Toulouse in recent years attendence hasnt been as bad as that.
