Default ESPN and the FIFA ranking

I just saw an interview with Cobi Jones about the new FIFA rankings on ESPNEWS. This bodes well for coverage of the US national team on sportscenter today, which also bodes well for the state of Men's National Soccer coverage in the media.

If you'd like to see the interview, I'm sure it will be broadcast again for those of you who have ESPNEWS.

Default Cobi interviewed on espnews

cobi jones just had a brief interview on espnews related to the US's new ranking of 9 in the Fifa world rankings.

he mentioned he wouldn't rule anything out, but he doubts he'll be at the 2006 WC.

i missed the first part of the interview, so maybe someone else can expand on the details.

ESPN is really going to town on reporting this. They put it on their ticker and everything.

While most of us in the soccer public know that these rankings don't mean all that much, the general American sports fan doesn't.
