Default Macclesfield Town vs Blackpool match thread

Macclesfield Town vs Blackpool League Cup, First Round.
Tuesday, 12th August 2008. Kick-off 7.45pm. At Moss Rose, Macclesfield

Blackpool will be looking to win this match after the opening day league defeat at home to Bristol City. Macclesfield Town are in League Two. They lost away at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday 4-0. Moss Rose holds 6,335 and is an old fashioned traditional English stadium with seating accounting for 2,599 and the rest terracing including the open air Silkman End where away fans are housed. Just have to hope it doesn't rain.

So far there has been no news of the possible team line-up nor any injury news, and it will probably only be announced an hour before the game itself. I wouldn't like to second guess Simon Grayson and who he might select. He could stick with the same team that started on Saturday or he could also have a look at some of the players who didn't make into the squad like Zesh Rehman and Alex John-Baptiste. Just have to wait and see. And of course hope that there is some good news about the injuries to strikers Stephen McPhee, Steve Kabba and Daniel Nardiello.

If the match ends all square it goes to extra time and then if needed a penalty shoot out to decide who reaches the 2nd round.

I am optimistic for this match (weather permitting) that we will win 2-0.

What is the weather forecast for tomorrow evening in Macclesfield Town? How far is this field from Blackpool? Do they have any palm trees?

It is about 72 miles, and according to the BBC weather forecast it appears to be about 16C tomorrow evening and, fingers crossed, no rain!

Sounds easy enough...so long as you guys take this more seriously than we do our US Open Cup

Maybe one of these days we'll actually try to win that tournament so we'll get the automatic Champions League Spot (assuming it is still on the line...)

Up the 'Pool!
