Re: Games online
Yes, they are, at least to those of us in the USA. i'm watching the full two hours of Norway/USA Women now. You have to enter your zip code and cable company, and it should work for you.
Added later: Also, i'm watching the standard viewer on WiFi! no need to do the DSL or cable connection thing. Really clear, with no lag.

Re: Games online
Just go to http://www.nbcolympics.com/video
I strongly recommend you install the 'Silverlight' plug-in to get the enhanced player. This allows you to get streamed text commentary, as well as watch multiple games with Picture-in-Picture etc.
Every game is live and/or on-demand. I watched USA v Japan earlier, and am watching China v NZ now.
Laurence
{Disclaimer: I work for MS on the Silverlight technology, so I'm probably biased, but that doesn't mean this isn't the coolest sport/streaming ever}

This guy ( http://www.justin.tv/cramex ) has the games with the actual commentary as broadcast. I'm not sure if that's a blessing though. One of the guys just referred to the Japanese National Team as China at about the sixth minute. I don't know if he has all the games, probably just the US games. I'm sure if you look around that site and others like it you could probably find pretty much everything with commentary. But I did check out silverlight and it is pretty good streaming. I just have a hard time watching without hearing the commentary, even if it is horrible.

It's nice that it has the commentary, but, for fear of sounding like the Olympic police, please remember that NBC (owned by GE) paid a lot of money for the rights to the content, and NBC (owned by GE) are probably in everybodies 401k. I know they're in mine!
In economic times like this it is better to help them make a profit on their investment than it is to channel the traffic to an illegitimate rebroadcaster, don't you think?

Re: Games online
No, that's a silly way to choose broadcasting.
That said, the NBC stream is pretty damn good and the few seconds I listened to the commentary on that MSNBC stream I almost died laughing.

I figured you'd respond like this since you work for the company. But if anything I'm doing them a favor. I'm not going to click on any ads on their site, I'd just be using up their bandwidth and they wouldn't be getting anything from me for it. If my DVR hadn't crapped out on me I'd be watching it on my TV legitimately. Not all of us have 401ks by the way, I do, but not everyone does. Also, in economic times like this I think it's better to watch out for myself and make sure I can feed my kids and not worry about the bottom line of a multi-billion dollar company.

Re: Games online
Nothing to do with the fact that I work for MS, and work on the Silverlight technology used for the Olympics.
Just to do with the fact that the NBC paid the IOC for the rights to broadcast the content, and improve their brand/sell adverts as a result.
Someone illigitimately rebroadcasting that content is not something to be endorsed IMHO.
