Mo Camara signs on loan for one month
Mohammed Camara
Experienced Guinea international defender Mohammed (Mo) Camara has signed on a one month loan deal from Championship rivals Derby County, as cover for the recovering Stephen Crainey at left-back and Joe Martin.
Camara is 33 years old, 5ft 11in and has plenty of experience in England with Wolves, Burnley, Derby and a long term loan at Norwich City last season as well as playing for Scottish giants Celtic.
He has signed on an emergency loan basis until 30 August.

Re: Mo Camara signs on loan for one month
Just to add to the above it is also being reported in the media that should Camara impress during his stay at Bloomfield Road, then he might be offered a permanent deal.
It does seem a very short loan period as it only lasts 25 days. It does though cover five matches
Saturday 9th August - Bristol City home (Championship)
Tuesday 12th August - Macclesfield Town away (League Cup First Round)
Saturday 16th August - Norwich City away (Championship)
Saturday 23rd August - Sheffield United home (Championship)
Saturday 30th August - Southampton away (Championship) - live on Sky Sports too!

Re: Mo Camara signs on loan for one month
An average left back, useless in the air and its always worrying when the ball comes near him but he does a job at this level. I would just be worried if he was your first choice

Re: Mo Camara signs on loan for one month
Aye, Stephen Crainey is first choice left back. He won virtually all the Player of the Year awards last season, but had an operation at the end of the season and is not yet back to full fitness. We also have young Joe Martin signed from Spurs, and he is also out injured, hence Camara coming in. Crainey once back fit will I'm sure be back to first choice left-back.
Reports were that Norwich had considered signing Camara permanently but decided against it in the end.
Oh and Huckerby seems to be settling in well to life with San Jose Earthquakes, three games two goals!

Re: Mo Camara signs on loan for one month
Blackpool today extended the loan deal by a further month for Camara, which is good news as he has played in and done well in all four league matches as cover for the injured Stephen Crainey who will still be out of action for between 4 to 6 weeks, following his operation yesterday.

That is good news! He has been a helpful addition. Any chance he could become a permanent sign on?

Re: Mo Camara signs on loan for one month
I'd like to see him signed permanently. However, it seems the club just want to have him on loan. When Crainey is back playing he would then just have competiton for the LB spot from young Joe Martin who was signed as a midfielder but who the club seem to want to use as a LB. But in my opinion we should have Camara here too competing for the position.
This is what Club secretary (basically the bloke does a hell of a lot at the club from PR to organising the paperwork for the signings to the website and so on and so on) had to say about it earlier today on a 'Pool forum in reply to a question asking if we could get Camara on loan for the full three months -
"Can't get Mo for three months, we have taken him for another 28 days which takes us to after the Cardiff game, then there is the international break so techincially he would go back and if he wanted he would return after that for the remainder of his 37 of the 93 day loan.
Hope that clears things up
Matt"
