1FCN avoided elimination in the First Round of the DFB Cup by defeating fellow Second Division Club Ahlen 3-4 in PK's after 120 minutes of scoreless football. For Nurnberg the following players scored on their PK's, Mnari, Pinola, Gygax and Masmanidis.
Nurnberg lineup for the match and subs:
R. Schäfer - Breska, A. Wolf, Goncalves, Pinola - J. Judt, Mnari, Mintal, Engelhardt - Charisteas, Vittek
84" Gygax for Mintal
84" Masmanidis for J. Judt
105" Pagenburg for Vittek
The Second Round will be held 23/24 September.

Bad news: Defender Andy Wolf (I know his wife) got seriously injured (Kreuzbandriss) during the 2:1 home win against Augsburg and is supposed to be out for 6 months.

Lars Jacobsen, who got released by Nurnberg in June, is on the verge of signing for Everton.
Anyone watch him a lot? From whenever I saw him, I thought he was a good player who was tenacious. Injury prone though. But for free I would take him.
