Default Gorkss, Nardiello and Rehman

Although there is nothing as yet on either the QPR or Blackpool official site, it does seem as though the protracted deal has finally been sorted.

Simon Grayson was interviewed last night and confirmed that the two new players were here already.

Daniel Nardiello has apparently signed a two year contract with an option for a further two years and Rehman has signed on loan until 1 January 2009 with a view to a permanent move after that. Funnily enough we did the same with Ian Evatt when he came from QPR on loan at first until January then signed permanently.

Nardiello has struggled to settle in London and has not been able to re-produce the form he had at Barnsley. We desperately need new strikers and we now have two new strikers in Nardiello and Kabba (who is also on loan until 1 January 2009 with a view to a permanent move) both with a point to prove. We certainly need our strikers to start scoring! Also because of his mixed heritage, Nardiello could have played international football for Wales, England, Italy, Puerto Rico or the United States! He chose Wales and he made his debut for the Welsh in a friendly against New Zealand in April 2007.

Rehman is another player with a point to prove. He started out at Fulham in the Premier League, where he made 21 league apperances in two years following his signing his first pro-contract. He made his professional debut against Liverpool at Anfield in April 2004. Some place to make your pro-debut! After his move to QPR though he was used as a left-back and struggled apparently. He played for England at U17 and U20 levels before committing himself to Pakistan, who he qualifies for due to his pakistani parents, when it became clear he wouldn't ever get to play for the full England national team. He made his international debut on 7 December 2005 against Sri Lanka in Karachi.

Of course none of this has been officially confirmed as yet, it was expected that it would be announced today but that didn't happen. I will add profiles for both players when they are officially confirmed as signing.

Oh and Gorkss has signed for QPR.

Finally it has been confirmed on the official site!

Daniel Nardiello joins on a two year contract with an option for a further year.

Zeshan Rehman joins on loan until 1 January 2009 with Blackpool having first option on either extending the loan until the end of the season or signing him permanently.

So a big welcome to both players and hope they both do well.
