Default Menu diversity in stadiums a growing trend

Chowing down at a Wizards game is an exercise in gustatory globe-trotting.

The concession stands, with names such as Munich House and Blue Dragon, serve foods that hail from countries where soccer is popular — Italian ravioli, British fish and chips, Mexican tamales, Greek gyros, Chinese egg rolls, German wienerschnitzel — and, of course, all-American hot dogs. Churros and paletas are alternatives to funnel cakes and ice cream for Latin-style snacking.
Seems to be a growing trend and starting to be incorporated into stadium construction. Does it really bring that much more revenue? If people are hungry won't they just eat from what is offered? I know I eat before a game and am not really hungry during the game, quite thirsty though.

Are the next wave of stadiums going to be more like malls or just the regular stadium concourses?

Going to be?

Have you been to a modern stadium from any of the 4 major sports leagues in this country? This is just a continuation of a trend.

Remind me to visit KC's stadium when it opens.

Rather than the blahhh HDC food, most LAG fans would welcome some diversity of this kind.

What do they sell at "Chivatown"?

Bland food kinda fits my idea of LA. Bland food for bland people

Does that mean they sell douchebags at RFK?

Seriously though, the food sucks at HDC. The beer selection has gotten better. But the bacon-wrapped hotdogs aren't gonna beat what's available in the parking lot.

I was focusing on SSS here, should have been more specific. Been to Toyota park Hunt Park, PHP and Dicks. Gotta say the concourses are no better and very much similar to a 25 year old Arrowhead Stadium.

Ive never understood eating at a stadium.

Baseball and cricket, yes, but for a 2 hour soccer match?

Can people not eat before and after the game and avoid paying extreme stadium prices? That's what I do.

Only for a doubleheader would I consider buying stadium food.
