Any interest in going to Harrisburg or Baltimore for the July 1 (Tuesday) US Open Cup Trip?

There are threads elsewhere, but I wanted to put one on here too. If you have interest in attending, please post in this thread.

Here's the latest. Almost one van filled up. Lots of maybes.

Would be awesome to have a mini bus for this match. Or two a two horde caravan.

A little more than three hours. You will be passing the harbor of Baltimore to get to the stadium on I-95.

Can anyone say whether or not the game will be on the internet anywhere? usllive.com?

USL Live only does US Open Cup games if a USL-1st Division side is playing at their home ground. Crystal Palace Baltimore is in USL-2nd Division.

Depends. We have two vans driving down, and a lot of people are carpooling. Figure roughly $35 or so.

US Soccer is finding a way to screw us from getting to the Semis, that is if they win on Tuesday. Potential QF match up for us is on the road, either at the Revs in New Britain, CT or at the Richmond Kickers.

Don't get me wrong I love to cheer on our boys if they are close by, BUT DIDN'T US SOCCER LOOK AT OUR SCHEDULE?!

FRI, JULY 4TH @ COLORADO RAPIDS
TUE, JULY 8TH @ NE OR RICHMOND
THU, JULY 10TH @ KC WIZARDS

Wouldn't it have been easier & better to face either Chivas-USA or the Seattle Sounders on the road instead of flying all the way back to the east coast. This is rediculous and the boys are not going to recover in time for either of the MLS games, or the Quarterfinal match up (If they beat C.P.B.). Geographical parings my (_|_) THIS IS STUPID AND B.S.!

    a) The USSF could give a rats ass about MLS scheduling. This is on their terms and it is their tournament. I'm sure the thinking is that MLS should bow to them

(In related news, the USOC has been and continues to be a poorly run Mickey Mouse tournament)

    b) We haven't hosted a USOC Open Cup game since that Final that was switched to Giants Stadium at the last minute. I'm not expecting one in my lifetime.

Although to be fair, New Britain is about as neutral a site as one can possibly have

For anyone going, please note that the venue has been changed. As per Goff:

This is the venue info (and a pic) from the CPUSA site:

Well, it's a secondary site for a USL-2 team, so yes, yes it is bush league.

flip - since you'll be in Annapolis, care to either mock them using the tune anchors aweigh or just sing the Army song (I'm blanking - all I keep thinking of is the Marine's Hymn)

I'd be more inclined to shake their hands due to them ending the streak against your alma.

Just an FYI if you go that route - I am pretty sure that 301 is just two lanes for a large portion of that trip. You are probably better off sticking it out on 95 through Baltimore and jumping on 97. The problem will be traffic either way with a Tuesday night game at 7:30PM. Almost better off leaving extra early and finding a bar in Annapolis to drink at before the game. Chances are no on-site tailgating.

Why not use Rutgers again for these US Open Cup games? The Metros used RU a few years ago and the games were well attended... I remember fondly Woly's game winning goal in extra time vs the Revs in the Semis at RU!

AG. That was against DC United late in the 2nd half in the Semis. Guevara in 2nd half extra time was against the Revs.
