The Quest for the Holy Grail Continues, 14 Threads and Counting... Presenting the 14th installment of the Hottest USMNT Picspam thread, where we scour the official sites, wire services, and photo agencies for great photos of our favorite players, sometimes even ones besides Carlos Bocanegra. Everyone can join in--if there's a guy you like who's not getting enough coverage, post your own photo or make a request and one of us will dig up something fun. Even though this is all in fun, there are several rules that must be adhered to: 1. Trolling anywhere on BS is frowned upon, but especially on this thread. It will not be tolerated (The mods have our back). Posting pics from the infamous NYT photo spread has been done in the previous threads and laughed at, so get over it and move on. 2. A picture MUST be posted on every page. While talking about how hot our boys are is great, it's more stimulating to see how hot they are. 3. Give credit to the folks taking the pictures. This is a BIG one. Don't "fix" the pics! If they're watermarked, it's for a reason! They are COPYRIGHTED IMAGES! It's only acceptable when you've found them without. Without the photographers (some of whom are reading this thread), we would not have 6000+ posts over the course of these threads, so give them their due. 4. If he's been called into camp, he counts. One cap wonder, he counts. Always a benchwarmer and never a sub, he counts. If he's crossed the player pool listing at any point in anyone's memory, he counts. I bring this up because a) at least one of us is awfully fond of GKs, a position for which we have depth wildly outpacing available caps and b) photos of players from years past are always welcome. 5. If it's the player's birthday, try to post a photo. You can find this info at ussoccer and mlsnet. 6. On a matchday when the USMNT has a game, there is a concern about results and spoilers. Please avoid giving out scores of games until after 72 hours from the end of a given match (per the new policies of this forum). If in doubt, then use the "result" tags -- for those that don't know, it's done accordingly: [ result] yadda yadda yadda [ /result] (minus the spaces inside the opening bracket). Please note that this request applies to photo captions as well as to open discussions. You can almost see belly button... We're getting closer. And because the thread closed before it got to be enjoyed... and, first!
love, Love, LOVE the title! As usual, we presented a very attractive team!! I think the USMNT Blog and US Soccer in general should be renamed the Rabbit of Caerbannog. Anyone have a Holy Hand Grenade we can use?
WHAT is your name? Katsbox WHAT is your quest? I seek the Holy Grail WHO is your favorite USMNT hottie? B(aby) B... No BC!!! (Ahhhhhhhhh......)
the quest for the holy grail you're using coconuts! sorry, couldn't resist. i was raised on monty python. pool time:
That is part of the quest...find the photos and don't think of it as your treasure trove or memory box, think of it as ALL our treasury chest. I wrote chest, and I thought of Michael Bradley...huh,huh. ussoccer.com click on the sights and sounds link is the best place to find photos PS: Always include a photo in your posts even if it is not relevant to the discussion, wait the photos are always relevant to the discussion.
isiphotos.com is where these show up first, but they'll be watermarked. (As mentioned above, please don't remove the watermarks). Getty is also a good source for watermarked shots. Yahoo and Sportsline will sometimes have cool stuff, but you have to check within 24 hours of a game or they'll disappear/get lost in the sea of general world soccer photos. Some of the stuff that shows up here, like this favorite are ones we took ourselves.
I think they might since they get taped up all the time, I can't imagine ripping the tape off their hairy legs as being a pleasant experience
I think it's actually common among male sports and taping. I've heard of (Am.) football players shaving their lower legs, baseball players shaving around their wrists, and of course swimmers doing it all.
I just had to share this a video of Carlos and Onyewu discussing Barbados: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Eb72pXguG4
my junior year in high school my coach said he'd let us shave his legs if we lost no more than 4 games. we ended up waxing one leg and shaving the other
[QUOTE/] We begin with the traditional [/QUOTE] "It is I, Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon, from the castle of Camelot."
OK, I'd been restraining myself, but now I'm so watching my Holy Grail DVD. "Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?"
I was going to post the taylor ones but I feel I should refuse on account he's been such a tool lately...
Oh, yeah, my mom was in town this week, so I took her to the Revs-NY game on Saturday. Postgame, Reis stuck around to sign autographs, so my mom handed him her program for a signature. "I didn't want your autograph," she said, "I wanted your phone number." She went back to NC yesterday, but not before calling me at 4:45 from a bar at the airport to announce that her new boyfriend Matt was on ESPN right then. What have I done?
