I'm really surprised that MLS nor DC has not reported anything about Moreno closing in on being the first player in MLS history to ever score 100 goals and have 100 assists and based on the stats, it seems this will not have happen again, if it even does, for a long time.

Based on the fact that goals and assists are the most important thing in wining games, I can't believe this isn't being reported.

One day 15 to 20 years from now, hopefully MLS will be a more recognizable sport in this country and the soccer community around the world . . . And if this happens, I am certain there will be articlas about this historic event and how at the time it wasn't really reported.

They probably are waiting for him to get closer, 5 more assists is still a lot and may not happen this season in spite of his good assists pace so far.

In this stat-mad country I am kind of surprised there has not been an article. But it may be that 5 assists is still a somewhat long way to go (hopefully it happens this year!) and they don't want to jinx him.

As to happening again, it is most certainly going to happen again, say in about 2-3 years. Surely you have heard of Landon Donovan! (After that it is probably not going to happen for a long time though!)

ps-1st player in any of USA's 1st division soccer to do that (ASL, NASL, MLS).

Just got word from D.C. United Communications that they are in fact very well aware of the fact that Jaime is approaching the 100 assist mark. Additionaly, they have had a regular item in their game notes (that go to all media members who cover them) for the last couple of months. As Jaime gets closer to 100, they are pretty sure that we'll see more mentions in the media.
