Their last 10 meetings:

mm-dd-year, home - away (F = friendly, WCQ = World Cup Qualifier)

2-6-2008, Austria 0 - 3 Germany (F)
8-18-2004, Austria 1 - 3 Germany (F)
5-18-2002, Germany 6 - 2 Austria (F)
2-6-1994, Austria 1 - 5 Germany (F)
11-18-1992, Germany 0 - 0 Austria (F)

***

11-15-1989, Austria 3 - 0 E Germany (WCQ)
5-20-1989, E Germany 1 - 1 Austria (WCQ)
8-29-1986, Austria 4 - 1 W Germany (F)
10-5-1983, W Germany 3 - 0 Austria (WCQ)
5-27-1983, Austria 0 - 0 W Germany (WCQ)

Austria hasn't beaten Germany in a tournament since the two sides met at the 1978 World Cup. Before that meeting, it had been 37 years since Austria beat W Germany.

Needless to say, history -- among other things -- will be on Germany's side this coming Monday.

I just agreed to watch this game with an Austrian last night... I think I'll switch sides and come in red and white, don't care that much about Germany anyways.

if I had to choose, I'd say it's better than having scolari call us the best squad in the tournament

Our "semi-German" wants to heat up things a little bit.

Well i guess, we gonna need some serious offensive help, maybe Lehmann could help a little bit.

Austria is so bad, we can play with ten strikers and Lehmann alone ensures our x-0 victory.
They wouldn't score a goal if we play without a goalkeeper.

By no stretch of imagination Austria can beat Germany. The difference between the players quality is just too huge. If not everything goes wrong, Germany will do it to the quarter finals - where Portugal is waiting. This will be a great game.
