Two host nations
I'm not really opposed to it, but when it's going to be fairly weak teams it's going to limit better competition obviously. Not being a sour grape(I would have liked Italy to host 2012), but it should have gone to one nation for the next one, although Poland has proven to be a worthy host because they earned a spot in the competition this year. I think it's only logical to switch it every other tournament, or to include more teams next time around.

Re: Two host nations
Though I can't defend Austria for when it comes to charges of playing poor football, Switzerland was one of the 10 UEFA countries that made it through to the 2nd round of the last WC, after coming out on top of their group in the first stage.
That said, I know what you're getting at. I, too, wouldn't be satisfied if UEFA granted co-sponsorship to, say, Austria and Hungary. Right now, as regards the hosts' quality, the choice is borderline acceptable for me, if only for Switzerland's being a competent side that just didn't have a good game today.

Re: Two host nations
Ok, but we can all agree that the competition would be much more entertaining and competitive and better for soccer worldwide if let's say, England had the spot of freaking Austria.

umm? now we blame the 2 host nations for england not getting a spot on the EC?
I actually like this 2 host, it gives everyone the oeprtuninty to host a great competion like the Euro..
We are tired to see germany, france, england, italy hosting these comptetions.. we need to see new nations, new creativity. . and if a nation like england didnt qualify, well... they are not suppose to play football then.

So far the Swiss need to make up some space, and we haven't seen Austria yet. If they both crash out in the 1st round, this 2 nation format should be reconsidered.

I don't think it is about the co-host format. It is about the choices of the co-hosts. The Swiss is actually fine. Thery were unlucky yesterday. They had done enough for the past 15 years to be considered a worthy team. Austrai causes a concern. Both Poland and Ukraine should be stronger than Austria. Having said that, they are both up-and-down nations. Poland has a good cycle at this moment, but will they continue in 2012? Ukraine has been sleeping since the end of the Soviet Union.

Re: Two host nations
I don`t understand what the problem is.
what is so bad about a weaker team getting the chance at playing the euros as a host nation. it is just one slot. I don`t think that hurts anybody.
and the fans get the experiance of a lifetime.
In WC there sometimes even weaker teams.
also we havenīt seen austria yet, they still may suprise us

Re: Two host nations
if they are going to keep giving joint bids (which i think IS fair because otherwise it would be dominated by larger, richer countries like england, spain, france, germany, italy, etc.) they must increase the number of teams to 20 or 24 teams.
