Re: 2 to go through...
I posted this in the other thread:
I'm trying to pick the two teams that will go through for my pool, but I can't seem to make up my mind.
1. Portugal and 2. Czech Republic seems like the conservative "safe" pick, but I feel like Turkey can surprise and Switzerland have an excellent defense and can grind out a ticket to the next round. Help me out! I don't know what to do; should I go safety or do I take a chance?

I also think this group is actually very open. Portugal may be favourites but none of the other teams are pushovers and they need to be on their toes. As for the rest, if I had to chose one I'd go for the Czechs but it's almost like flipping a coin to decide.

Don't know how I came to this conclusion, but I think it'll be
Czech Rep.
Switzerland
Turkey
Portugal
I'll probably just embarrass myself...

Yes, the Portugese are full of stars, but The Turks have the skill and play as a team and the Czechs are deadly and clinical in the way they play. Should be a fun day tomorrow.

Re: 2 to go through...
I think it will be Portugal and the Swiss, Portugal because I'm biased and the Swiss because they look a decent side. They appear to have a fairly good defense if the WC is anything to go by, in midfield they have some quality young midfielders that are hungry as well as Frei who is good enough to get them a few goals. Home advantage doesn't hurt either.
I'm not so sure about the Turkish defense or the Czech midfield or attack, Rosicky will be missed and Koller is at the end of his international career, I've never been sold on Baros.
The Turks do have some excellent players though and the Czechs have a solid defense and a world class goalkeeper so both teams have the ability to qualify if they play to their best.
Realistically any combination out of the four teams could qualify, Portugal are favorite but that really doesn't mean much and despite the talent weren't great in the qualifiers.
