Default League 1 Best 11's

Its that time again, and every Tom Dick and Henri has his won idea of who should be on the best 11/equipe type of the League. I just figured we could all put them here, including the 'official' ones. The debate should make for interesting reading.

Valbuena - Toulalan - Cheyrou - Wendel
Niang - Benzema

EUROSPORT
Mandanda
Chrétien- Puygrenier - Squillaci - Taiwo

Niang - Benzema

FRANCE FOOTBALL (*pure* average of notes given over 38 gamedays)

Mather - Pugrenier - Sorbon - Davaud
Valbuena - Toulalan- Feindouno - Abriel

I think out of those, Eurosport did the best job because Chrétien should be the unanimous choice at right back considering the season he and Nancy had. I think the only reason he isn't in FF's team is that they award 0 if one gets a red in a match, an that happened with him.

I know that you're not a fan of Nasri's, Sportboy, but cut the guy a break. While he wasn't as consistent as he was the year before, I'd argue he had a better season than Cissé, while he's certainly the better player between the two. There were many matches during this season where Nasri was very good, yet of course, there were matches when he didn't show. As he progresses, I think he'll gain consistency, but being an offensive guy, it's harder, especially in this league, to be brilliant every week. He remains a hugely skilled player despite both Benzema and Ben Arfa being ahead of him right now, I think.

Well its kinda strange to me that someone who doesnt make the L1 first team can command a 15 + million transfer fee.

I get what you're trying to say, but compare Nasri with say, Jérôme Leroy, who got selected by Eurosport. Leroy could have been better in L1 in terms of his consistent performance, but I don't think anyone in their right mind would shell out more than 4 million Euros to buy him as his limitations are certainly known. It's the same with a guy like Pagis. Whereas with Nasri, the sky's the limit, or for now, he can very likely develop into a starter on Les Bleus by the World Cup, if not sooner. It's the same with Kaboul, who was transferred for about 10 million in the past summer and who certainly didn't warrant getting into the team of the year, either. Oh wait, it's Spurs, so it doesn't count as a good example.

(I'm kidding, I actually don't dislike Spurs, but their spending such sums on Bent/Kaboul was quite hilarious.)

Thought it'd be interesting to bump this for the 2008-2009 season. I don't have time to engage in the regular predictions league, but was wondering if anyone was willing to hasard a guess on what the best 11 COULD look like before the start of the season. I know that we're 2 days in, but since the transfer window isn't closed, you can wait until the first week of september to make your predictions. We'll all see how it pans out at the end of the year...

All I know is that Juninho is not on that team anymore and thats just weird to see because he's been dominate in Ligue 1 ever since he got here.
