Default Konchesky to Portsmouth?

http://www.planetfootball.com/articl...+swoop&clid=33

An offer has been made according to planetfootball. I really like Konchesky, I enjoy his hustle and his play. I think this would hurt the team and decrease the depth the team has.

Default Konchesky to Portsmouth?

This is the one move I've not been wanting to see. IMHO Konchesky is even better than Parker. He is far more talented and versatile. He's got pace and can take some excellent corners and free kicks.

Our defense is still not solid. I think Curbs playing Hreidarsson on the left instead of Konchesky indicated he was sure Paul was going to be gone from The Valley before the transfer deadline. I'd thought they had brought Herman in to play center half. Guess this isn't the case.

We should loan out Konchesky. Keep him and offer him more money later.

Here is the latest from Curbishley:

“Paul Konchesky is still on the transfer list and if we get to the 31st and nothing happens, he has to get on with it here - what else can he do?”

Sounds like he is getting a little frustrated with him.

I think it's just sour grapes on Curbs part. I don't know why he should be mad at Paul. Paul thought he was going to get a starting job when Chris Powell was arguing for a longer term contract that made it look like he wasn't coming back. It didn't help that Herman Hreidarsson was signed, too, since he is also a left back.

Paul didn't have a very good first outing against Man City. The 5-3-2 wingback formation failed terribly that day and Paul was part of it.

Default Kncchesky on loan to Tottemham

"Konchesky’s loan deal will also be for a month, with Hoddle apparently keen to have an extended look at the young England international.

“With regard to Paul, it’s no secret that he’s on the transfer list,” said Curbishley. “Glenn wanted to take the opportunity to have a look at him so it is an amicable agreement for everyone.”

The left-sided defender, 22, has made more than 100 appearances for Charlton since becoming the youngest ever player to appear for the Addicks.

He earned his first full England cap as a substitute against Australia in February and after signing for Spurs at their training ground on Monday afternoon, he left to meet up with the rest of the England U21 party for the Euro 2004 qualifiers against Macedonia on Friday and Portugal next Tuesday."

I wonder if this happened because the Convey work permit situiation.?

Konchesky gets into a game:

"The England international was a 70th-minute substitute for Tottenham Hotspur during their 4-2 defeat to Chelsea."

Is 20 minutes at the Spurs better than playing time with Charlton?

Especially, since Hreidarsson was out with an injury and he was replaced by Chris Powell who played the whole match. Paul would have started at left back.

I only have the webcasts to go by, but Konchesky certainly seems better than Powell...
