Default Puma Boot and Equipment Thread

It was becoming a pain in the ass, trying to find some predator mania's. I decided I would go try on a bunch of different shoes today, and walked out with the pumas. I'm going to give them a try thursday night and see how they play.
Anyone else wearing these shoes?

actually, in terms of durability for me, i have a lot of scuffing and the leather is worn pretty significantly after 4 months of wear or so (and i wasnt playing too much with them in jan/feb). however, great boots otherwise, and the signs of wear dont exactly affect my playing anyway

Well, I've been trying to stretch my v1.08's by wearing them as much as possible around the house and even in the shower. They've stretched only the tiniest amount. There's still snow on the ground here (montreal) and my next indoor game isn't for 2 weeks. I'd hate to have to give away yet another pair of perfectly good cleats, but with all the foot problems I've had the past 4 years, it's not worth it to me to risk going back to injury hell over $200 or even $2000 worth of shoes. As I said before, my Supremacy's fit well, and I tried on Talarias the other day (they were out of Vapors). If I end up not using the V1.08's, I may try the Vapors next.

I did take pictures, but like all digital cameras with a flash, the picture ends up looking very different from the real thing. Where I colored over the white puma icon with black marker looks hideous on camera, even though it doesn't show in person at all. I don't think I can risk the wrath of boot lovers by posting the pics.

Anyone know where they might not be out of vapors in or around Montreal? My guy told me the whole country was sold out, I found that hard to believe, we're not exactly the boonies here.

I don't think it's wise to throw out cleats before you even get the chance to try them out. Try and atleast give them a little chance

No no, I would never throw them out. And I will try them out to be sure. I've given many several pairs to my teammates and friends the last couple of years. Most of them are lower level players, I've been playing with the team while trying to recover from a bad injury. The shoes don't make the player of course, but most of them are playing a tiny bit better since they started wearing the boots I've given them. Most of them were wearing crappy plastic 60 boots and now they're wearing the best ones. A lot of them didn't have external heel counters in their shoes, and I believe not wearing a show with one myself contributed to my achilles problems. In return, the organizer of the team usually charges me a lot less to play since I'm indirectly helping the team out. 5 years ago, I'd buy whatever fit and was cheap, for running shows, and whatever fit and was on sale, for boots. Now, I don't mind spending a bit more to have better shoes, even if it's on to feel safer psychologically.

So I finally got to use my new king execs in a game. We had a tournament this weekend. They felt great, I loved the feel of them. One bad part tho... I've already seen signs of the poor durability tho... I'll post pics soon. The tip of the boot is peeling away from the bottom.

Could that just be the glue though? I sometimes when they paint boots that they sometimes go over the glue which is annoying and then it peels away taking the colour with it.

The v1.08's. i heard a couple of reviews that suggested they tear a bit too easily. but they cant tear any easier than the tunits.

The other thing was that the tunits started off quite comfy, but are killing me now, hopefully the v1.08's are comfier

i'm confused about what your problem is with the shoe, you are wearing shoes that generally fit tighter than most (vapors, V1.08s, and Talarias) the Supremecies weren't as tight fitting. The shoes that you are trying people typically buy them a size larger to fit better. Also wearing leather boots in the shower will dry out the leather and doesn't help the boots in the long run.

Both the Supremacys and the v1.08's are 10.5. The Puma's are a bit tighter, but I'm hoping they will stretch. I'm doing my best tio stretch them without being able to play in them yet, but there's no leather in them, anywhere to stretch. Once I play in them i expect them to stretch better. For the Supremacys, what i like about is just how solid they are in the sole and that they feel almost the same as wearing my orthotics used to. I'm not comparing them directly to the Pumas.
