UPDATE: Wigan Athletic will offer centre-back Paul Scharner a two-year contract extension, according to Setanta Sports.

ANALYSIS: Scharner has definetely earned a new contract with his recent play. The Austrian defender has really shored up Wigan's back line and will sit down to discuss a new contract as soon as possible.
