Well, the fallout from the Charlton disaster is on. Today's Express & Star has several articles dealing with the performance, all basically saying the same thing...no heart and desire on the field, things need to change. Though there are some positves, as Dean Kiely and Alan Curbishley from Charlton both say that things can only get better, but then in the next article, you see Paul Ince admitting that the first half was a "crap" performance.

Meanwhile, the word is that up to 6 regulars may be out of the squad for the Man U. game. Lescott, Kennedy, Miller, and Ndah are still not ready, Murray injured his back playing for the U-21s, and Cooper went out in the 2nd half against Charlton with an ankle injury. That leaves Oakes as the starting goalkeeper again, with an injured Murray as backup.

The word on the transfer front is that Wolves have aggreed to terms with Athletico Madrid for midfielder Emerson, and subject to a physical, scheduled for today, he should sign and be available for the Man U. match. It is believed that he will sign a 2-year deal, with an £800,000 transfer fee. Wolves have also brought former Newcastle keeper Pavel Srnicek to train, though it's unsure weather he would be available to sign in time for the match on Wednesday.

Finally, the search for a #2 to assist Dave Jones continues, with an announcement hopefully in "the next few weeks" Ward was sacked in early July, so you would have hoped this was sorted out before September, but better late than never, I suppose. Some message board support for Glenn Roeder, but it's still very early, at least in terms of contacting Roeder to see if there is interest.

Though I prefer not to have all of this at all, I would rather have these sort of problems at the beginning than later in the season. I am confident that we will turn it around and stay in the Premiership.

True. I think the problem is that everyone looked at the schedule and saw that trip to Old Trafford looming as the 3rd match, and while I could envision Wolves going into that match losing the first two, I did not ever expect the scores to be 5-1 and 4-0. It was more the style of loss that has people worried, and the fear that Sir Alex and his bunch might go out and try to hang a 6 or 7-spot on us as a message. Personally for me, a good result at this point is a 1-goal loss, or a tie/win. There is still plenty of time to right the ship, but we really can't take any more 4 goal losses.
