I'll say this: there are only two documentaries that I remember with vivid recollection. One is New York: A Documentary Film and the other is History of Football.
I wouldn't pass up buying the DVD set. Until I get the money, though, I'll have to wait for it to show up on PBS again.

Do you think this is the same series you saw? If so is it full of highlights? I'd hate to buy a 12 to 15 hour set if most of it is looking at a story-teller/interviewee and viewing still pictures.
By the way, here is a link to what I believe is the official site. http://www.shoutfactory.com/hos/

It is the same series. Plenty of World Cup and European Cup footage (as recent as '98) plus some shots from S. American soccer that I thought that I would never see. I think what tipped me was the depth of insight into the Asian game.

I bought the set. I'm about half way through watching. It's great.
It's very well put together. There is tons of history that you don't get from just what happened in the world cup. The picture quality is great. I'm amazed at all the old footage they could find.

DVD Easter Eggs
Is anyone else who owns this set aware of how to access the Easter Eggs on this video series? I recall reading the "trick" in a review that I read somewhere, but I can't find it now. I am not familiar with a lot of the standard "hiding places" for DVDs.
Thanks in advance if anyone knows.

Easter Eggs
Right from the Extras menu according to http://www.michaeldvd.com.au/Reviews...?ReviewID=2643
I haven the set, but haven't tried looking for them yet. I don't understand why companies go through the trouble to put something on a DVD and then hide it from part of their audience.
