Albion Scoreboard [R]
Just to keep this board active... (since it seems the few Albion fans on BigSoccer avoid it) I'll periodically post recent Albion scores on this thread.
Walsall 4-1 WBA
A brace from V***a old boy Paul Merson and poor Albion defending gives the Saddlers the win in this Black Country derby (lowercase "d").
WBA 4-0 Brentford, Carling Cup Rd. 2
Rob Hulse's home debut sees him bag two against Division 2 outfit Brentford. Bernt Haas and Scott Dobie also score.
WBA 4-1 Burnley
Hulse and Sakiri's first league goals lead Albion their first league win. Lee Hughes' two goals minutes apart near the end seal the three points for West Brom.

Another three points for Baggies
Watford 0-1 WBA
Is Hughesie no longer "useless"? Lee Hughes was in the right place for a headed goal in the 56th minute. A brilliant clean sheet by Russell Hoult gave Albion the away win.

Always wondered why the Albion fans that you spot around BS never seem to pop in here. I know theres other, much more used boards, but as they're already here....
Oh well.
Up The Baggies!

I usually look round the Rivals (wbaunofficial) & westmidlands.com/E&S boards. I'm registered at Rivals but rarely post.
Since this board is here, however, I figured it ought to be used. A number of the other non-Premier teams' boards have decent use, while many of the Premiership teams boards are little used at all.
And all of the Dingles on BigSoccer have crawled out of their corners over on the W****s board. But I've resisted tempation to constantly go over there to slag them, unlike other Albion fans on other boards.
... at least not till end of the season anyway.

Albion 1 Preston 0
Hughesie's 44th minute penalty was enough in a pretty poor match. If we can do this when not playing so well, I'm looking forward to when we show what we can do.

Another 'one-nil to the Albion', on a penalty no less. This is beginning to sound somewhat familiar.
A win is a win, another three points. But when we face our promotion rivals in this division, Albion's play must improve.
Hopefully with a full squad now at Megson's disposal, it will.

Megson really needs to spring for more attackers. The back line and midfield are pretty stable and Hoult's got a terrific backup-we just need more punch up front. That's what killed the Baggies last season. I'm glad Hughes is back in fine form. This should be a fun season!

Albion Scoreboard [R]
I think we are fine as far as forwards go, if Rob Hulse lives up to the potential he has clearly shown in the first few matches. And hopefully in this division, Hughes, Dobie and Dichio will be better able to create opportunities.
If we end up selling Jason Roberts at some point (though I would prefer he stop sulking and withdraw his transfer request), I would think Megson might look for a replacement up front, perhaps.

It's time for Dobie to break loose! He has the ability for sure.

Jason Roberts is still the best striker at the club on his day - too early to compare Hulse even though he looks to have a better all round game. I know Roberts wants to leave but if he don't play he's not in the shopwindow and against Preston we needed someone exactly like Roberts who with his pace could have easily exploited the extra space. Dichio was non-existent on Monday and Roberts could have murdered that back line.
