Possible Transfers
I don't know about you all, but I am excited at the prospect of Ferguson coming to Blackburn. I know Souness has been down-playing it but it sounds like Fergie wants out of Rangers, so things are looking good.
And this mystery defender everyone is talking about...any ideas?
I would feel a lot better with a few more skilled players in there. The roster just isn't looking too deep right now.

I thought Rangers said they wouldn't sell Ferguson.....
Rovers need help in a bunch of areas. Not having Emerton and Reid tomorrow will really hurt. We are lucky we are opening against Wolves, and we may have trouble.

The signing of Ferguson will probably depend on whether they qualify for the Champions league. If they don't, that'll mean no £10m+ to service their huge £80m debt, and they may have to sell in order to prevent a Leeds-style meltdown.
Blackburn also linked to Marcus Babbel of Liverpool on a free:

When you think about it, Reid; Gresko; Emerton; Amoruso are all great signings. Yelldell gives us some youthful cover at GK.
Add Ferguson, Babbel, Baggio and possibly another striker and you have a great offseason on your hands.

Other clubs are in for Ferguson, according to the BBC:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...rs/3177715.stm
However, I think that Blackburn have the best chance of signing him.
Liverpool=Have a lorry load of midfielders already, and are going nowhere fast.
Man City=Inconsistent and only an outside bet for European qualification, even if he joins them.
Everton=About to spend £5m on Davis, so cash would be quite tight.
Villa=Not likely to get into Europe this season, and can you see them spending any more money with Ellis in charge ?.

Blackburn also have Amoruso, who I presume is a mate of Ferguson due to their time at Rangers. That could be a drawing point for him to come to Ewood.

We need him to help shore up our leaky midfield if the Man City game is anything to go by. Listened to it on the radio, and the game could have finished 10-9 to either side.

Sounds like it will come down to Rovers and Everton for Ferguson. I saw reports where Blackburn are upping the bid. With the cash they have from the summer, I would give odds that they come out of this one with their man.

Stamen- Did you listen to the game on the net? Are you a Rover's World subscriber? I'd like to find a good way to follow the team without spending tons of cash.

I heard it on a normal radio, as BBC radio 5 covers the games here in Britain. I'm afraid I have heard some negative things about Roversworld i.e. It's not really worth the money. The problem is that the official site is created by PremiumTV, which is a pretty dire site provider in terms of content on the actual site.
Actually, I've just remembered, BBC radio 5 is free if you have the right programmes to listen to the radio on t'internet. The site is www.bbc.co.uk.. Although being a national station, it will have a range of teams sharing coverage they will always have someone at the game to provide updates. And you'll be able to listen to Stuart Hall, which is worth buying a radio or computer for in itself. It should be quite easy to find. Just don't go to Radio 1-It's a really sh_t music station.
If that doesn't work out, the next best thing is to go to a decent Blackburn site like www.brfcs.biz, and ask. They'll have someone who knows, even if they're all surly gits there .
