I was culling the mlsrumors email and someone from the inside supposedly, states that the name for Philadelphia will be Philadelphia Independence FC. IF you now go to the philadelphiaindependencefc.com website its picture has been changed from the generic one to one with kids playing soccer such as was on MLSinSeattle.com and MLSinPhiladelphia.com

if this is the case, and i hope not because im not a big fan of the name, then i hope they use it like teams use 'united,' never referring to the team as "the independence"

In speaking with Nick last night he told me that a name was yet to be determined. They had some things in mind, but the team name does not exist yet. That does not explain the domain registration, however, other than buying it up to have it just in case.

I could live with Independence...but it's just there...A name that long would ensure a nickname really quickly...It's hard to create 9 syllable chants...one more and we could just sing in iambic pentameter
