Takayuki Suzuki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takayuki_Suzuki
Not super productive, but I remember this guy pretty well. He's pretty well known in Japan as one of their former top strikers. He scored a couple of important national team goals. Good signing, but I really wish we had somebody who scored an insane amount of goals, even if they were tap ins.

Re: Takayuki Suzuki
It sounds like he is a hounding, pressuring forward, who forces defenders into mistakes.

Re: Takayuki Suzuki
Sounds pretty good for MLS, where composure on the ball is just plain absent. Especially after watching LA in Hawaii.

Re: Takayuki Suzuki
True he hasn't scored much at the club level, but it looks like he's scored quite a bit for the National team. And I'd love to have anybody who's scored a goal at a world cup. He's a veteran and has big game experience. I'm interested.
Anybody familiar enough with Japanese football to full us in a bit on this guy?

Don't watch those cruds. Take a look at Houston now, and see you Earthquakes ball in action.

You don't need "Former." That's where it came from. Invented here, not in Houston.

Re: Takayuki Suzuki
So did the Quakes sign him or is he just on trial?

Re: Takayuki Suzuki
I'm thinking on trial since there has been no official announcement of his signing on the Quakes website. There wasn't even any kind of rumor regarding Suzuki which is odd because there's been lots and LOTS of rumors tying other players to the Quakes.
