I just hung out with most of the CSU: Local 202 D.C. chapter this weekend. Depending on flight prices i think i'm going to try to go. I've been three times before for Crew matches, it's a pretty good time other than RFK is in the ghetto (and i mean worse than CCS)
A few weeks ago Southwest was running one-way fares from CMH to BWI for $43 plus tax, each way. I don't know if they're still running that fare.
Southwest has flights now in April from CMH to BWI (Baltimore) 58.50 after fees one way, that's $117 after tax&fees for the round trip. It's called the "Wanna Get Away" Fare. Alternately, 430 miles from CCS to RFK at 20 mpg in my truck (ouch!) is 21.5 gallons of gas at 3 bucks a gallon = $61.50 each way, ~$123 round trip. And no need for a rental car. If your car gets 30 mpg, that's ~14.3 gallons and 43 bucks each way, $86 for the round trip. Go with friends and split it, well, hey, not bad.
if anyone wants to pick me up on I-80 in Pennsylvania. I'll occupy a car seat and split up pay between however many ppl.
We did the trip down for the Cup and that wasn't a horrible drive. If I don't have anything going on for school that Thursday I may try to make the drive. CF, you're a little bit north. If you can somehow get down to Washington (the one south of Pittsburgh, not DC) and if I make the trip I can get you there. I don't know how far that is from your place, though. I won't know until Spring Quarter starts on the 31st of March, however.
We may end up driving if my GF can't afford airfare. If HHM can't make it we could probably grab ya. We're trying to price out flying, amtrak or driving. Driving looking like the cheepest option at this point so I'll let you know when I know. We could probably adjust the route to put us on the Penn Pike between Washington and Everett (only adding about 20 min to the drive) I 80 would add a few hours to the trip, what part of PA are you coming from?

Clarification: I am terrified of the match result. I have seen 4 away matches versus DC over the past few years. How many have Crew won? How many were 3-0 or 3-1 defeats? Or how about that Crew performance versus New York/New Jersey/Red Bulls/Metrostars last May? Ugh. The piss poor memories pile up. Though, granted, I have a view nuggets of good away matches. P.s. Are you trying to start some shit with me?
