    As expected, J2's fifteen teams will play each other three times, with a total of 45 rounds; with 42 games and 3 byes per team.

    Moreover, J2 won't stop for the NT's World Cup qualification games (June) and for beijing Olympics (August).

    So, lozza fun for Basse & co. ;)

    indeed, now that they've gotten themselves a "real" striker they might be able to finish a couple of places higher and go for playoff/promotion.

    Kofu, Yokohama FC and Sanfrecce will, unless they lose the majority of their key players, will all be contenders for the top 3 ( although what Yokohama showed last year doesn't suggest that)....

    Fukuoka are selling alot of players, but are linked to several others as well. They're looking towards A-League for reinforcements, which not be a bad thing. They could very well be up there next year as well.

    Sendai and Cerezo are of course 2 hot teams next year as well, and both will probably end top 5.

    Re: Official 2008 J2 Thread

    No major transfer moves for Cerezo just yet, and the only senior we've brought in so far is Omata from Shonan. Ze Carlos is of course our biggest loss, but we still have one foreign spot open and Im sure Culpi and Gilmar with their excellent brazilian network can bring in a great player.

    Here's the transfers so far :

    In:
    MF Kuroki ---> University
    FW Shiratani --> University
    DF Hiroyuki Omata ---> Shonan Bellmare
    DF Ryuhei Niwa --> Vissel Kobe ( loan extended with 1 year)

    Out:
    DF Ze Carlos ---> Released
    MF Ryuichi Dogaki ---> Kwansei University
    DF Junya Yamashiro ---> Sagan Tosu
    FW Kim Shin Young ---> Sagan Tosu
    MF Daisuke Yoneyama ---> Tsagen Kanazawa
    GK Daisuke Tada ---> Ehime FC
    MF Takuya Miyamoto ---> Montedio Yamagata ( 1-year rental)

    Re: Official 2008 J2 Thread

    Kofu lost Shigehara and Sudo so that's gonna hurt

    Yokohama FC lost their best player in GK Sugeno to Kashiwa

    17 players have been released thus far for them and Uchida and Hiramoto are both due to leave as well.

    Sanfrecce is a mystery. It looks like Stoyanov and Sato will stay and they have a ton of young talent like Cerezo.

    Fukuoka is looking for older A-League guys, which isn't great if you judge it by Ceccoli. I think Littbarski is a disaster as a personnel guy/manager

    I am afraid so.

    Hard to say now, but Cerezo, Sanfrecce and Vegalta seem to be the top-dogs, for now.

    Re: Official 2008 J2 Thread

    Ceccoli might not have been the best defender in J2 ( he's gone now anyway), but haven't they bought Mark Rudan now? Sure he's old and all that, but being the captain and a regular of Sydney FC should mean he would strengthen a J2 swuad wouldn't it? He was good against Urawa in the ACL matches last season atleast;) About Rudan, he's allegededly a corrupt one, as he was involved in some match fixing scandal when he played in Germany.

    But with both Alex and Lincoln gone they don't look sharp up front. Teruaki Kurobe is brought in as a replacement, but is he good enough for 20+ goals?

    I doubt Kofu will make it back to J1 on their first try, as they don't have the name or budget to attract good enough players to replace the ones they've already lost. But an upper-half finish and with a bit of luck, a run for the promotion place seems a realistic target for them.

    FC....dunno. no good players have been brought in, and they've lost a couple of regulars already. So on paper, they shouldn't be good enough to make it, but I guess they really weren't that in 2006 either. My guess is a mid-table finish.

    Sanfrecce will most likely be up there.

    Re: Official 2008 J2 Thread

    I hope Rudan will fixed our defends, Avispa lost too many games last season and we need a tall, strong full back.

    Its really sad that both leave and we couldn't keep one of him.
    Kurobe will score around 20 goals i think so too and Mike will need time to get in the team. he will score about 10 goals.

    I hope Cerezo can find a good replacement for Ze Carlos and Yoshida (sorry for that but we need him :eek:). I think they will finished TOP 5 like last year and will fight about promo-place.

    Yokohama lost good players like Kubo, Yabuta, Yamaguchi, Omura...
    and got no major transfer yet. Maybe they will suprise us, maybe not and my feeling is not.
    sorry

    My top cpntenders for J2 are:

    Sanfrecce Hiroshima
    Vegalta Sendai
    Cerezo Osaka
    Avispa Fukuoka
    Ventforet Kofu

    I see my team on 4th place but we will fight :)

    tall and strong Rudan is, but he is also slow and causes alot of fouls. When he is good he is good, when he is bad he is very bad.

    I saw him only against Sanga, I believe. He was ok, but it is hard to judge players who are in minor clubs... he seems ok for J2, thou...
