Default Anderlecht and other clubs looking to leave Belgium.....

Belgium
Belgium's Le Soir reports that "RSC Anderlecht, Club Brugge KV, KRC Genk, KAA Gent and R. Standard de Liège want a 14-team top flight from 2003/04, while the other clubs are crying out that it's a scandal". The article reveals that Genk's president, Jos Vaesen, put forward the five clubs' viewpoint at the recent league assembly - and that the smaller sides are, not unexpectedly, unhappy with this, as it reduces their chances of featuring among the elite. Le Soir adds: "Some of them are even saying that the big five should leave the professional league, at the risk of not taking part in the championship or European club competitions." However, the report concludes that "despite their financial clout, the five clubs do not have the necessary majority to push through an amendment to the regulations".
