Default DFB Pokal: Werder Bremen II vs. VfB Stuttgart [R]

Two teams in the round of the last 16 is already a great sucess
for the club. With 1.FC Köln and St.Pauli 2 professional team were already thrown out,
against VfB Stuttgart it will be a much harder task, but it´s a cup game,
"der Ball ist rund" and "ein Spiel hat 90 Minuten".

Possible line-up:

Werder Bremen II

Pellatz - Holsing, Mohr, Stallbaum, Erdem - Peitz, Kruse - Löning, Heider - Schindler, Harnik

coach: Wolter

I'm looking forward to having competitive football again

I'm about 95% confident we'll win this, but we'll just have to see. We have got our own injury problems, as we've had all season, but we should be able to beat the amateure.

Can't say I know too much about anyone on the projected lineup, although I know that both Harnik and Schindler are supposed to be very talented strikers, so we'll have to watch out for them.

how many people do you guys expect to go to the game? I know if VfB was playing away, and the amateuren were playing Bremen at home in the cup, a good 10-15000 would probably turn up. Are you guys gonna have a similar amount of spectators? The Bremen II players would surely love it

Against Sankt Pauli there were 15000 visitors. Could be more this time, I suppose.

But the officials generally only open the Westtribühne, which is the one for the away fans, and the Südtribühne for Amateure games. But I guess these two fit at least 20000 visitors.

You guys might make an exception tomorrow, especially since it's your only side left in the cup now. I hope for a good game, and of course, a VfB win

I'm gonna be both shocked and crushed if we don't pull this one off tomorrow. I really hope we make a push for the Pokal, both due the disappoinment of falling just short last year and the fact that we aren't looking too likely to win anything else this year. Our guys just look so schizophrenic this year. We have missed Timo even more than I thought we would.

Gomez scores in the 29th minute for Stuttgart. It's crazy because WerderII has been better so far and that goal was actually the first shot for Stuttgart. Harnik should have scored early in the game. Owomoyela is playing for Werder II.

lost 2:3 while being down by 3 goals after the first half. second unlucky exit from the DFB Cup for Werder within 24 hours.

Also something historical: Starting next season it isn't allowed for a club to have more than one team in the DFB Cup. So Werder II was the last team that ever represented a 2nd team of the same club in that competition.
