Question Jardel?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...rs/3126523.stm

Mystery surround's the future of Sporting Lisbon's Brazillian forward Jardel. He's been linked with the whites before but now the BBC, who rarely ever update our team page on their website, are insisting we're on the verge of signing him. Sam Allardyce has, as usual, denied this... just like he denied we were going to sign Okocha as he flew in the finalise the deal. He would be a great signing for us if we could get him. He's score a boatload with all the chances we create.

Wasn't he treated for depression a while ago ?. Mind you, even if he was, he's got a sounder mind than Marco Boogers .

Looks like he's joining Bolton, barring a medical:

Jardel is bad news, IMO. His wife divorced him last summer (2002) I believe, and after that is when the depression hit. He didn't show up at Sporting's preseason training, and only showed up a month into the season.

I don't remember everything exactly, but there was a big squabble with him not showing up at training when he was supposed to be there and was trying to get out of his contract with Sporting.

Even though he is a good scorer, I'm glad Sporting got rid of him as he became a team cancer and wasn't worth all the hassle. Hopefully he's straightened himself out, and will be a valuable addition to Bolton's squad.

Thumbs up

For ************s sake, I've been on holiday while we made our biggest signing of the season. I was probably the last to know!

Anyway this is ideal, he's a superb player and is just what we're looking for. It's a shame he won't face the scum but I can see him scoring for fun in future games. If he scores just half the chances he'll get we'll be looking at 20+ for this season.
