Arrow Charlton Athletic vs Blackpool Match thread

What

Blackpool visit Charlton Athletic in a Football League Championship match.

When

Saturday 15 January at 3:00 P.M.

TV/Video

No coverage on Sky Sports other than the usual goals highlights which will appear at some point on Sky Sports and on ITV's The Championship programme.

Radio/Audio

This game will probably be covered by BBC Radio Lancashire, though not available online as they don't allow access to the station during match coverage. The BBC station for London is BBC London 94.9 no idea if theu will cover it or not. The official Tangerine World subscription site will have online radio coverage.

Build up!
First things first, the cheating, childish Kelly Youga who tried to break Stehen Craineys legs a few weeks ago when Youga was on loan at Scunthorpe and who when sent off for it, decided to become a three year old child and walked off at about 0.00001 miles an hour, is now back at Charlton and will presumably feature. Immature cheat. (Rant over)

Stephen McPhee is likely to make his debut for the 'Pool though whether he starts the match or is used as a sub remains to be seen. Club captain Michael Jackson can also play. There had been some confusion over whether or not he was banned for reaching five bookings. However, he has only apparently received three bookings so far this season so can feature.

Charlton are lying in 5th place, in a Play Off spot, with 40 points. And even though Blackpool are in a lower mid table position in 14th place, there is only a 7 point difference with Blackpool on 33 points. The Championship this season seems wide open. Charlton though are one of the richer clubs in this league, not surprisingly considering they were in the Premiership from 2000 to 2007, time and have aspirations of a quick return.

Charlton are based in Charlton in the borough of Greenwich in London. They have played at their home ground, The Valley, since 1919. They have a number of quality players, too many to list!

If we get a draw out of the game it will be a superb result IMO.

For the Blackpool/Dynamo fans - the game will start at 9AM CST. I'm hoping this week that the Matchtracker and online radio feed will be working and I can provide updates as the match progresses.

Stealing a point from a tough team is always good. Good luck, 'Pool! Time to start showing off the new players.

Oh, and if the opportunity presents itself, be sure to hit that b*****d Youga hard

Update:

Larry will have a "selection headache" tomorrow but a good one as he has virtually a full squad now, with only long term injury, Keith Southern (ankle ligament injury), out of action.

New striker Stephen McPhee is likely to feature but Grayson still has to decide whether to play him from the start or as a sub. Kaspars Gorkss is likely to play (IMO!!) after being rested for the FA Cup match at Barnsley last Saturday, which will mean that either Ian Evatt or captain Michael Jackson will drop to the subs bench.

Midfielder David Fox who made a rare start this season last Saturday and who scored Blackpools goal is also pushing for a start.

As usual though the team will no doubt only be announced about one hour before kick-off.
