This is interesting. Not sure Twellman could pull PKE out of the cellar but he can't make them worse.

Twellman isnt that good unless he has players around him that are good. So he is going to go to PKE, who suck, and do nothing. He will have to come back to the MLS just like Donovan after he sucks it up overseas.

Can't see it happening really as PKE (who is this Preston North End of which you speak in the thread title??? ) are rock bottom of the Championship, have been losing players left right and centre, leaving a rapidly sinking ship on their (hopefully) way to League One.

Be a backward career move IMO - and that is not my talking with tangerine tinted glasses on, just a statement of opinion!

I don't know about that. Twellman is a good player and while he isn't a game-changer like DeRo (MLS Cup 2007 anyone?), he can score goals like crazy and against Prem defenses, I think he should be able to score a healthy amount of goals. Again, not sure he can save PKE, as has been pointed out, but he would help a lot

Except he wouldn't be up against Prem defenders. (sorry, couldn't resist)

For Twellman though I think it would be a backward step as PKE are going nowhere this season. They are rock bottom of the Championship and have just lost Patrick Ageymong to QPR, though they have just got £500,000 from Stoke City for Danny Pugh whose loan move has been made permanent to the Potters. They did manage to win last weekend but it was in the FA Cup and in front of only just over 4,000 fans at Dumpdale.

Twellman would be better trying for a Championship club such as Wolves, Hull City, Cardiff City, Ipswich Town, Plymouth Argyle etc - clubs who have a chance of getting promoted to the Prem, not a club who are in deep trouble and could easily end up relegated to League One.

There is a rumor that Twellman signed somewhere for 2 million. Anyone hear about this?

I've only seen the original rumor from earlier in the week about the offer from PKE. Need to check some more.

PKE have just signed midfielder Richard Caplow for something like £800,000 - £1,300,000 not sure of the real amount as seen different amounts.

Seems that PKE offered the Revs $3million and was turned down. I suspect Twellman is not very happy about it.
