Default George Zoffinger have US SOCCER......

George Zoffinger have nail US SOCCER (USSF/MLS) politics and without remorse or mercy on his statements last week have mortally wounded many SOCCER WANNABE PROMOTERS: "I am totally overwelm by the response to the game between ROMA / REAL MADRID close to 70,000 a pop with an average price of $35.00, THIS IS THE RESULT OF HAVING PEOPLE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING WITHIN THE SOCCER COMMUNITY "

(that gotta hurt !!!)

He's right on about MLS/US Soccer. However, Mr. Zoffinger, since you're an expert all of a sudden on promoting sporting events involving great teams: Why don't you figure out how to get the Devils(2 cups) and Nets(finalists) to sell out a mere 20,000 seat arena more than 4 times a year. Afterall, they play in a building that is run by the organization that you're in charge of. JACKA$$.

mods, would you change the title of this thread (i didn't know what it meant) and maybe move it to business and media? this is a very important topic and i think it will really engage the b.s. posters.

is there a link to what zoffinger said? i'd like to know what he thinks u.s. soccer and mls are doing wrong, and what answers he has.

If you are going to move it, there's already a long discussion on this subject in B&M.

George Zoffinger is a tool who doesn't understand the difference between and "event" and a "season"

George Zoffinger fails to realize that one match with 70,000 in attendance doesn't guarentee a success.
1) it was a pre-season match that end 0-0
2) players such as Luis Figo and Steve McManaman complaint that the field/pitch was terrible. http://www.soccer365.com/US_home/Lat...20_37027.shtml
3) NJSEA would care more for the Giants and concert events (in promotion sense) than the Metrostars. Case in point: http://www.metrostars.com/stadium/ha.../article2.html

Why don't we start an "Official I hate George Zoffinger" thread?

Who's up for it?

Default MLS / USSF ....Ya'll better watch out....

There is something that not so many people are aware of ....It seems that CHARLIE STILLITANO is behind everything and still hurt about his relationship with MLS, it seems like there are some SHARKS (lawyers) coming into the picture and Charlie is after some @ss... even though he denied to have any knowledge about the matter...

George Zoffinger and the duplicitous NJSEA are trying to destroy the Metro and Zoffinger has already declared MLS matches to be of "minor significance". If the USSF really believes that the MLS made an important contribution to our good run in WC2002, then it would be downright foolish of the USSF to reward the NJSEA's atrocious treatment of the Metro by scheduling any US National Team matches of any description in Giants Stadium until the NJSEA makes dramatic changes in its treatment of the Metro. I'm from NJ and of course love it when the USA plays close to home, but the NJSEA's treatment of the MetroStars and their current efforts to undermine the strength of the franchise simply has to be slapped by the USSF and slapped hard.

This is a thread for these boards because the USSF can help to influence the course of the MLS in a positive way and should take every opportunity to do so. Giving George Zoffinger and the NJSEA a swift studsup kick in the rear would be a good start.
