Raton Ayala that c__ks__ker cost us the championship single handedly. Great fullback, well he certainly chose the wrong friggin' game to commit his 2 greatest blunders costing the argie nat'l team a much needed title.

Phil Neal (RB) and Emlyn Hughes (LB, and also a DM) were outstanding full-backs and should be added to these lists.

LB: Ruud Krol (Holland) and Paul Breitner (West Germany). The latter also played as an AM.

Amoros was a left back. For France, either Maxime Bossis or Patrick Battiston would play at right-back.

Amoros was right back but could play at the other place too. Battiston and Bossis were center backs. On the left were Ayache and Tusseau.

I can't remember a great French left full back before Lizarazu. Maybe Gérard Janvion from the great St-Etienne's team in the 70's.
