Huh....he is part of the Fire system....theoretically they can offer him a contract next year. Interesting article, but definently makes the Barcelona story look laughable. His college offers are from mediocre schools. He could look for a lower league team to start off with abroad, or sign with the Fire in Jan 09 as well per new MLS rules. On a sidenote, this does not belong in this forum. First of all as he is not a citizen, it would not be a Yank Abroad. Secondly, there is no actual interest in him. Maybe the Chicago Fire forum would be best?
Dude - you used recondite in a sentence. That puts you ahead of 99% of native english speakers. I'd say your english is fine.
Oskar goes to my school and he has talent. He is playing one game with the u18 polish team and has had two offers for teams in england and holland. so he sure is on his way to some major clubs
If I had a dime for everytime on big soccer ensuring success based on interest from clubs in Europe. I'd be rich..........
It looks like Oskar is still playing HS ball in the States. From last month: Three days earlier, Liogas scored twice in a 3-1 win over Lincoln-Way East in Pepsi Showdown action. Ruben Gayton had the other goal for the Devils. Gayton, Oskar Gasecki and Brandon Brown picked up assists. That example of losing Sahar is a dumb one. A lot of Israelis have Polish passports, but we get them just by proving that one grandparent suffered in the holocaust in Poland. We can use them for EU travel etc. but no Israeli would ever want to represent Poland.
Looks like he is currently attending open tryouts for Chicago Fire. Has made it past the second round. http://chicago.fire.mlsnet.com/t100/fans/tryouts/2008/
Looks like Oskar is headed to Western Illinois for next season. http://www.wiuathletics.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=49917&SPID=4941&DB_OEM_ID=12000&ATCLID=3706699
