FSC is showing Barca and Man United playing 19 October 1994, right now. They're re-showing it tonight at 1am EST. So far, I've seen baby Keano and little Nicky Butt, plus a Mark Hughes goal. Also, Romario is fun to watch for Barca.

Edit: Lil Scholes and Steve Bruce just subbed on. Scholes is 19 years old. You FSC subscribers must watch this tonight if you haven't seen games from this era recently.

Arrr wish I had seen the post earlier.

I just got FSC a week ago, and I've been hooked. My roommates are giving me slightly dirty stares because I've just been hooked. This past Saturday, I watched our match at the bar, then got back home and watched Wigan v Sunderland, A Spurs game, and some Serie A all in a row. During the NFL Draft

I'm gonna have to ease up...finally did see that EPL game always called the best ever, that Lpool Newcastle match from Keegan's "I'd Love it" Season, the 30 minutes highlights anyway. It did look quite exciting, Robbie Fowler must have been really hopped up on crack that day.

They're doing something similar this week -- showing an old Barca - United game along with the replay of today's game. (It's on the schedule as "Barca TV"). I think they're showing our second meeting from 1994, which sucks for United fans, as we got our butts kicked in that game. Still, it's fun to watch classic games, so I'll probably be tuning in. I like seeing our older players as youngsters, plus guys like Kanchelskis and Hughes who I've rarely seen play.

So, I watched the second Barca game from 94 -- and it was difficult to watch -- but, one cool thing: When Giggs made a run early in the game, a commentator said something like, "Well, here's that young Welsh player we've been hearing so much about; let's see if he'll live up to the hype." I LOL'd.

Also, our players in 94 seemed a lot physically bigger. With the exception of Butt and Giggs and maybe Ince, they looked almost like rugby players. I had seen photos and goal clips of some of the players before, but it was a little stunning how physically different they seemed when I watched them for a sustained period. I was wondering if the difference might be that conditioning has changed, the game has changed, the uniforms have changed (like how pro basketball players look utterly different in their old short shorts vs the new ultra long shorts), or did we just happen to have a group of big guys? What do you guys think it is?

Watched the highlights of the 9-0 destruction of Ipswich the other night on FSC. The funny thing is that it could have been 4 or 5 more, Sparky hit the cross bar with an overhead, a few off the line clearances and Craig Forest had a few good other saves. It was quite amusing to Giggs jink past Frank Yallop several times.
