Default Carling Cup @ Blackburn

I'm going to make the trek up for the Carling Cup Quarterfinal.

Anyone else going?

Anyone have any helpful hints for planning travel up to Blackburn?

Right now I think I am going to drive up with a buddy and stay the night somewhere, just no idea where yet.

I'm almost tempted to try and make the journey south. Only thing is the match is on the 19th and my flight is on the 21st(early morning hours), but I have to be in Edinburgh on the 20th.

Blackburn isn't too bad though.

Train is complicated, from London you have to go to Preston and change then get a local train to Blackburn. Takes about 5 hours. Better to drive.

Looks like I am driving.

AAtickets,

Has anyone else signed up? I should have two seats available if anyone needs a ride. I'll probably leave early on the day of the game and return late that night.

I have sent AA Tickets a pmail today requesting a ticket but I am afraid I may not get it because it is less than 10 weeks before the match; I have also asked AA Tickets to see if I can join the Travel Club for the match. Assuming AA Tickets cannot help me, I would be glad to join you for the ride to Blackburn and I'd love to buy your extra ticket (assuming you have not sold one.) I would offer to do this immediately but I don't want to annoy AA Tickets (presumably Rick B) because I made my request to him earlier this evening. I am an Arsenal fan from New York City and I will be in England from December 15 to December 24; I already have tickets for Chelsea and Tottenham games. Please email or pmail me if you can advise me on this further.

When i went to Blackburn away i spent the night in Manchester which is a pretty short drive away. The hotels up there are much cheaper than London and the nightlife is good, so you might want to think about doing that.

Hello Lieutenant,
I am also coming in for the blackburn match, flying into london friday dec 14th, watching chelsea at home then trying to figure out how to get ot blackburn. Im studying in moscow right now, so im flying in from there, but im from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area in Virignia. Not sure if you are booked up for the car ride to Blackburn, but if you have a spot id love to go, and contribute to anything i need to for your hospitality. Get back to me if that is possible and if not, you got any other suggestions.

Sorry for the late reply, just got back from a business trip overseas. I'm going to be driving to Blackburn from Salisbury (away on another trip) and won't be able to drive anyone up from London.
