Default No more new players

Straight from the gaffers mouth.

I would also hazard a guess that even if we do sell we still arn't going to buy.

Default Probably right

Considering the only first teamers who might be sold are Guddy and jimmy, I don't think CR would want to buy anyone to replace them as we have a deep frontline already.

Interesting watching the BAWA and official CFC messageboards during the Birra Moretti. No one had a good thing to say about Melchiot and he appears to be this season's whipping boy. His performances toward the end of last season hardly helped his cause, but he was one of the better right backs in the EPL early in the season. Maybe fatigue got to be a factor, who knows. I think CR knows that RB is where we need a new starter and we need a new backup at CM. His hands are tied though so we will have to make due with Melchy back there.

Hopefully Gallas will do what is best for the team and play RB when Terry is fully fit. I think he is best at CB but Dessa and Terry cannot play RB.

You see that the Evans loan deal is only for 3 months? Hopefully that means Birch is still trying to find a buyer for Ed or even Bosnich. Rather see Ed go but if neither is going to play then we might as well cut wages. Evans would be a capable #3, probably even learn more in our reserves than at Orient.

Default Soccernet

Isn't this what we've been saying all along? I wish the media could just do some real reporting sometime instead of fabricating BS. Soccernet is getting to be just as bad as Teamtalk.

Default Evans

I think the way to look at Evans and the keeper situation is this...
Where do you see him next season?

Now, if he is indeed to be a part of the future of the team it has to be as the number two keeper for the moment as Cudicini has excelled of late.
Now, that being said, what is best to have this kid ready to be the number 2 man on the boat.
He will need regular practice with the first team squad later on as his reactions need to be sharp to jump in a t any time.

On loan is okay for the immediate future as he needs practice, but certainly not the ideal thing to do after the half way point in the season. He should be in the reserves where he will no doubt have a harder time of it as a whole. But that should be for a short time also. The importent thing is that he would be around the first team squad and geting the bennies of the coaching and expierence.

Now, what to do with the other two lads?Well, i doubt either one of them will be happy to be the number 3 keeper and to tell you the truth i see the both of them gone as soon as it is obvious to all and sundry that they are going to be last in the pecking order.
In fact i'm surprised that they can't see that this is where the situatiuon is going right now.

Default very rarely

and usually when there is only one or two others there like this morning. I don't know which annoyed me worst, elland/stan/? spamming the boards or the chelsea supporters. Kids wasting 3 screens of posts just to reach the 30000th post and crap as such. Then when they actually want to talk about the team, all they can say is buy Redondo, or Dunn or Rivaldo or Ronaldinho... Utter nonsense. At least the folks here have something worthwhile to read, even if it only happens a few times a day. CeleryKing was on this morning and i told him to send me an email address where I can get him to link up over here. Cotumely is there as well, but only sporadically. A lot of the guys from over a year ago like jamie, stamford61 and others haven't been back. Who is "The year was 1955" on these boards then? It must be someone from Soccernet but I haven't figured out so far.

I think it was Priest...but hard to say.
Stamford61 i believe is Bridgecowboy now.

I havn't posted there now for about 5 months and am quite happy here [being a moderator is nice too ]

It would be nice if the good posters did come over, but each to their own as they say.If the idiots did come over though they would be dealt with quite swiftly.I agree about the silly posts.I loged in one day over there just b4 i left and there was 400+ posts that day. But, between the bull from the Elland type posters and the "hi" and "bye" posts just to reach the 50,000 plateau i think there were about 20 actually worth reading.

Priest. That makes sense. Isn't he on Aussie time? That explains why he's never around at this hour.

The Venables - "Buy british" - I thought the latest lad was an aussie(?), I'm sure he'll love that one. Barmby? pleaseee, only 28, but never the real deal in my opinion. El Tels swansong at Leeds could go orribly wrong (lets hope so !). I think he's a good coach, but essentially he's a TV pundit past his prime and what trophies has he actually won eh?

The borro looking good on paper with some good buys and seemingly good manager (Fergies successor at one point, before the Ferg started to go loopy). Borro have looked good before, when they met us in the FA cup final, Ravanelli and Junhinio and the Brazilian...Got relegated that season.

The only transfer envy I have had over the summer is the Pools signing of The Serial Killer (only 10 million an all). I wish we had signed him. Like we need another striker? He looks good, just seems like the sort of player who really enjoys his football, likes to run at defenders.

RE: Soccernet boards. Sometimes I do read, but never post. I did manage to email cotumley, Priest and Northern and let them know some of us had moved over here. I don't know the lads really, I just told em in one of me posts to email and they did and i gave them the link. I emailed Celery as well, but between you and me, I fink the lads a bit fick :0) I'll email him again. Clan you should post a message on there and get them to come over.
