I'm kinda surprised they didn't announce BA's resigning at the meeting. Seems like a done deal at this point.

It has also been announced (I found it on a certain soccer TV website) that Contigulia told Radio Unica that the US will aggressively bid for the 2014 World Cup, as well as the 2007 Women's World Cup. Good news all around.

See interview with Dr. Bob:

On what has to happen to complete deal with Bruce Arena:
“We have to agree to terms.”
Hmmm...does that mean just "money?" Or issues of power over all the national team programs, including youth development??
Stay tuned.

I heard that Interview. They had Contigulia and one of the fellas that runs the MLS. Its seems as if they have paid off Radio Unica to start covering U.S footy.
Radio Unica now covers the MLS daily and has an MLS show on Sundays. To me the Interview was nothing more than propaganda to sucker in Latino fans..

v.s., radio unica have a deal with mls, don't they? they can't say, "no we won't cover advertising and propaganda for mls, only soccer scores!"
and mls has to find a way to reach the hispanic audience. this is a step in the right direction.

They do Now. Before they rarely covered the MLS. These past few days they have been anouncing their partnership with MLS to help the league Grow.
they can't say, "no we won't cover advertising and propaganda for mls, only soccer scores!"
It just sounds Fake. Before they hardly covered the league and now they are saying how Important the league is and we have to help it grow. They also have an MLS correspondent..
and mls has to find a way to reach the hispanic audience. this is a step in the right direction.
The other two Radio Stations in L.A that have football shows, Futbol de Primera with Andres Cantor covers U.S Football and La Radio que Habla 1020 with Veloz does pbp of Galaxy games.
The thing is Futbol de Primera is mostly South American audience. La Radio que habla has predominantly Central American audience and finally Radio Unicas program with Jorge Ramos is mostly Mexican and South American audience...
The key target here is the Mexican demographic. They are targeting the largest Hispanic ethnic group becuase lets face it Mexicans are the majority and the football ratings go where they go..

VS,
I thought you'd be happy that US Soccer recognized the importance of the Hispanic market enough to make the Radio Unica deal. I mean, this is essentially them saying, "We need a larger Spanish-speaking presence to get the word out"--admitting what you've always maintained. Hasn't that been one of your complaints, that MLS and US Soccer don't pay enough attention to Latinos?
Unless you feel threatened that MLS may actually make substantial inroads with La Raza...

I said that the USSF/MLS doesnt pay attention to Latinos as players. We are only seen as a great fan base potential.

I have nothing to be threaten about.
