NE Revolution v Dallas Burn
1.60 3.20 5.00

Could the big midweek trade shake up the Dallas Burn? I think I'll just wait to see if it does.

Damn, I hate to lay those kind of odds for the Revs.

That's good, because unless you are serving as a bookie you are not laying them, you are taking the odds at 1.6:1. The house is laying the odds.

I don't think Dallas will beat the MetroStars. They are imploding right now. Hendrickson and Glinton haven't been around enough to get to know their teammates, so I don't think they will have an impact. Attendance will be very low.

I don't know what effect it will have, but I believe there is severe weather potential in NE on Wed. Would that favor a tie?

You have to think so as severe weather reduces scoring and in rare cases (KC @ dc in '00?) cancelles the balance of the game. Regardless, any condition that reduces scoring by definition makes a 0-0 tie more likely and by extension scoring 2 goals less likely. All things being equal, with 2 goals eliminated, that only leaves 3 possible scorelines; 0-0, 1-0, and 1-1.

Well I put a medium stake on New England too. Hah! The golden rule of MLS, take teams with huge prices - avoid heavy favorits, holds true. This wekend:

Market Average
D.C.United vs San Jose 2.42 3.06 2.57
Columbus vs Kansas City 2.27 3.09 2.76
Chicago vs New England 2.04 3.08 3.17
Dallas vs MetroStars 2.74 3.06 2.29

Highest prices
D.C.United vs San Jose 2.57 3.40 2.80
Columbus vs Kansas City 2.52 3.35 2.97
Chicago vs New England 2.16 3.30 3.50
Dallas vs MetroStars 3.06 3.45 2.50

Tough weekend to call. Thoughts?

This is one of those weeks were the smart thing to do is not make any picks. The second smartest thing is to pick every match. No time to explain but I'll take, DC, Chicago, KC and Dallas. I just need to hit 2 for a profit.

SJ, KC, Chi, and Met. First 3 are the "Prime 3".
