Scanner/TWAIN question
I bought a Cannon LiDE30 scanner, and I'm having all sorts of problems.
I've loaded the drivers and ArcSoft software. Windows XP device manager recognizes that scanner. Diaganostic runs the scanner, when I re-load and plug into USB port, I get a message saying it recognizes the scanner. But the software doesn't-keep getting the TWAIN error message and none of the other imaging-related software recognizes a scanner plugged in.
Anyone have similar problems with XP and scanners?
Thanks.

They can be troublesome with any OS. I'm not that hot on XP but in other OS's I always try to scan a page from the basic program built in Windows called "Imaging" (I just don't know whether its in XP or not).
If the scanner is listed in Device Manager and the Scanners and Cameras applet in Control Panel you shouldn't have any problems.
If you get nothing from that you'll have to swallow your pride and call up Cannon's support line, it's what you've paid for by buying their product after all.

Thanks-that's pretty much what did the trick-in addition to running a registry clean up program. And yeah, seems like a lot of people have similar problems w/Canon stuff.
